Group Visits

Adult groups have the opportunity to explore exhibits through self-guided activities or by adding on a uniquely themed tour led by MOHAI educators.

Group Visit Pricing

Groups of 10 or more adults receive a discounted admission rate of $14.95 per person.

University and College groups of 10 or more students receive a discounted admission rate of $5 per person. Advance notice required.

All groups receiving discounted admission must visit together and pay admission in a single transaction at either the time of entry or with advance notice. Standard admission rates apply to groups less than 10 people.

Self-Guided Tour

Browse MOHAI and learn about Puget Sound’s history at any pace. Pick up a Gallery Guide at the Admission Desk and use the free audio tours (available in English and Spanish) for highlights of permanent exhibits and to dive deeper into Seattle’s history.

Grand Atrium Tour

Seattle is unique—from the design of life changing devices to giant pink toe trucks—there is no other city quite like it. See and learn about some of Seattle’s most iconic artifacts on a 30-minute docent-led tour of the Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium. Discover the impact they’ve had on the region’s growth and identity.

Availability: Monday–Friday, 1–4 pm

Edible City Tour

Hungry for history? Whether it’s farming at a local P-Patch plot, frequenting Dick’s Drive In, shopping at Uwajimaya, or watching salmon fly at Pike Place Market, everyone has a special history with food. This 45 minute tour of Edible City: A Delicious Journey dives into the stories of the culinary culture, flavors, innovations, and people that have influenced the tastes of today.

Advance Registration

Guided group tours require two weeks advance notice. Self-guided visits can be accommodated with three days advance notice. All University and College groups require pre-registration to receive discounted admission.

Free First Thursday

Admission to MOHAI’s permanent exhibits is always free on the first Thursday of each month. Guided Tours are not available on Free First Thursday. However, groups can receive the discounted rate for self-guided tours; please fill out the group visit form.

Amenities

MOHAI’s South Lake Café serves a variety of food, and seating can accommodate approximately 40 people inside. During summer months, the Café can also accommodate 40 people outdoors on the Boeing Centennial Terrace.

Scholarships

MOHAI offers need-based scholarships to non-profit organizations that serve low-income and no-income communities. Scholarships cover admission for up to 20 adults, either for a self-guided experience or guided Atrium tour.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations of guided tours must be made at least 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund. Cancellations within 48 hours will result in a $30 fee; however, admissions paid in advance will be refunded in full.
