Reflections on Art Practices in Seattle: 25 Years of the Neddy Artist Award

This event has passed.

Since 1996, Behnke Foundation has bestowed the annual Neddy Artist Award in memory of renowned painter Ned Behnke (1948-1989). As one of the largest and longest-running awards for visual artists in Washington State, the Neddy has significantly bolstered the careers of local artists. Join award recipients Nathan DiPietro, Claire Cowie, Timea Tihanyi, and exhibit curator Negarra Kudumu in a discussion of the Neddy Award’s impacts on arts and culture in the Puget Sound region.

The Behnke Foundation, Cornish College of the Arts and MOHAI are excited to celebrate the Neddy Artist Award and explore contemporary art in the Northwest with a major retrospective exhibit highlighting past grand prize award recipients.

The exhibit Celebrating Pacific Northwest Artists: 25 Years of the Neddy Artist Award will be open before the program from 6-7pm.

CART captioning and ASL Interpretation are available during the program. For additional accessibility support, please contact programs@mohai.org two weeks before the program.
