Community Conversation: The Heroin Epidemic

This event has passed.

MOHAI presents an important community conversation examining the region’s growing heroin and prescription opiate epidemic. In King County, more people now enter detox for heroin than they do for alcohol. Families are being devastated as the number of opiate-related deaths has tripled since 2009.

What must be done to address this growing epidemic?

KCTS 9’s Enrique Cerna will take on that question and much more with King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg, Penny Legate, Founder, Marah Project; Dr. Caleb-Banta Green, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute, University of Washington; Molly Carney, Executive Director, Evergreen Treatment Services; as well as other experts and individuals affected by the heroin epidemic.
Presented in collaboration with KCTS 9 and King County TV.

Location: MOHAI

Cost: Free!
